Beautifull indian revert story............

The story u r going to read today wasn't written from me. I came it across on the facebook wall of one of my friends and i was so amazed from it, that i had to share it here, as i think it can be a great inspiration for all of us: born and revert muslims, and even non-muslims, equally:

Mulaqaat with Sister Ayesha (Balwindra Kaur)

By ASMA ZATUL FAUZIN

Asma: Alsalam Alaikum Wa Rahhat Ullah Barkathoo.
Ayesha: Walaiku Salam Wa Rahhat Ullah Barkathoo.
Q: Sister Aysha. What is the matter that you came here after such
a long time
A: Sister Asma I was so eager to come but I could not get
Hazrat Saheb on phone. By chance I got him and took an
appointment to come here.
Q: Actually from Phulat an Urdu magazine ARMUGHAN is
published. My father has ordered me to take you interview for this
magazine
A: Oh yes I know ARMUGHAN very well. I have picked up a little
Urdu and can read ARMUGHAN with some difficulty.
Q: First of all you give your family background and introduction.
A: I was born on 3rd June 1965 in a Sikh family of Ferozpur
district (Punjab). My father Shri Fatah Singh was a Zamindar of the
area. I graduated from Guru Govind Singh College and was
married in an educated family of Jalandhar. At that time my
husband was a station officer in police. Due to hard work he was
promoted to rank of Deputy S.P. I have got two sons and a
daughter and all of them are studying.
Q: Now please tell about coming to fold of ISLAM.
A: I had a younger sister Asha who was very pretty. My father
married her also to a police station officer. Our father loved her
very much. After marriage she fell ill and despite all possible
treatment she did not recover. Her husband also took her to Delhi
for treatment but to no avail. He even took her to sooth Sayers and
exorcist. She was taken to a Muslim lady "Baji" at Malerkotla, who
gave her a talisman which gave her relief. Then she explained to
Asha "Look you cannot stand this misery for few days, then how
could you face the eternal torment of hell? Please think over it and
embrace ISLAM. If willing, I'll send you to Hazrat Saheb at Phulat
and there by grace of Allah you will be cured completely. Asha
told her that she would consult her husband. But the lady told her
that in case of faith there is no need of consulting husband. If he
did not allow you to do so, or beat you, there was no option. Then
she would recieve pleasure of her Lord Allah and get entry in
paradise. But Asha said that it was necessary for her to consult the
family before taking any decision. The lady asked her to expedite.
Asha came back to Bhatinda and told everything to her husband
and said that she was feeling much better and would regain
perfect heath only when she becomes a Muslim. Her husband
loved her very much. He said "Do whatever you like but become
healthy and cheerful again. I will be happy". Then Asha rang to
Baji and asked Hazrat Saheb's address so that she could go there
and embrace ISLAM. She gave her Hazrat Saheb (Maulana
Kaleem's) telephone number and on 25th May Asha rang Mulana
Saheb and sought his permission to come to him and recite
Kalma. Maulana Saheb told her that it would be better for her to
recite Kalma at Malerkotla. Asha said that she would prefer to do
so before him. But Maulana said, "Look sister, even healthy man
does not know when he would meet death. You are already sick
therefore it is better for you to recite Kalma immediately on phone.
You can renew it here later on". Asha agreed and recited the
Kalma on phone. Maulana explained to her certain fundamentals
of ISLAM, named her Ayesha (on the name of Prophet
Mohammad's wife) and asked her to learn prayers and desist from
puja and other polytheistic rites. After this conversation she told
everybody including her husband and myself about her ISLAM. I
did not like that she had changed her religion. But she was happy
and I could feel that her face was shining in a peculiar way. When I
asked her the reason, she told me that it was light of faith. She
looked quite healthy and cheerful. After long time that she had
cooked food and ate with family members. Before retiring to bed
she took a bath and started reciting Kalma which was written on a
piece of paper. She learnt it fully but then she fell in delirium and
started talking nonsense. She said, “There is a Palace of gold.
There is a place in paradise for me and people have bought
beautiful flowers for me. I am going to heaven." Then she recited
Kalma thrice and fell on her side. The doctor declared her dead.
The whole family was shocked and started lamenting and crying.
The family decided that she should be buried as per Muslim rites.
Accordingly, many Muslims from Malerkotla came and buried her
in local grave yard.
Q: This is very strange story of your sister's coming to Islamic fold.
Her death was quite ideal and pure without any prayer, fast or any
Islamic action. Actually her death is envious for us. Now narrate
the events of your acceptance of Islam.
A: My conversion is knit with the steps taken by Ayesha. We loved
each other very much. Her sudden death broke me down
completely. Frequently I thought about her one day's life after
embracing Islam and her death with smile and her enviable joy on
departing from prison of this life to the paradise just after recitation
of Kalma. I have seen many people dying and was horrified to see
their agony and pain. They breathed their last with great difficulty. I
wondered how Asha met such easy and cheerful end.
One night I dreamt that Ayesha was sitting on a throne with a pillow. She
was clad in jewels and pearl clothes, with a Crown on her head like a
princess. I asked her the reason of such a nice death. She replied that it
was due to faith (IMAAN) she said "Sister living a day with faith is more
precious than hundreds of years of life without IMAAN. If you do not
believe it, just try and be a Muslim for a few days."
When I woke up my heart was full of desire to become a Muslim
for few days. I discussed it with my husband who was worried to
see my grief and sad plight. So he allowed me to do so but also
showed his apprehensions about my sudden death like Asha. I told
him that in case of my death I would go to paradise and he should
get a second wife with an assurance that she would not torture my
children. After two days, through Baji of Malerkotla I got an
appointment with Maulana Kaleem Saheb. First on phone I told
him my desire to become Muslim for a week on trial bases and told
about sudden and surprising death of Asha after her conversion.
After some hesitation Maulana permitted me to come to him. I
along with my grandmother and maid went to Khatauli by train and
reached Phulat by car sent by Maulana Saheb. After taking bath
and breakfast we met the family members of Hazrat Saheb. These
ladies told me that a week's conversion to Islam was meaningless
and it must be for the whole life. I was upset to think of permanent
change of faith and its effects. In the afternoon Maulana also came
and promised to talk to me in detail during night because he had to
attend to so many guests waiting for him. Meanwhile, I read "Aap
ki Aamanat Aap ki Seva Men" thrice and finally decided to
embrace Islam forever. After Maghreb Prayers, Maulana came to
me and explained to me the value and benefits of Islam. Then with
my consent he asked me to recite Kalma and christened me
Ayesha on the name of Prophet Mohammad's favorite wife, Hazrat
Ayesha. I noticed that while talking to me Maulana was looking
toward his family women. I asked him the reason of this. He
replied that Islam commanded its followers to observe Parda and
separation between males and females. All the women with whom
a Muslim male can establish marriage relation were Namehrem to
him i.e. they should hide themselves from him. Maulana told me
that actually he should have talked with me behind a curtain, but in
order to keep me at ease he turned his face to the other side and
in Dawah work some leniency was permitted. Then I enquired him
why he did not ask me to recite Kalma on phone like Asha and
called me to Phulat. He confessed his mistake and said that it
would have been better as delay should not happen in recting
Kalma. One should always remember uncertainly of life. He further
told me that talking to Asha on phone he apprehended her quick
end and therefore he asked her to recite Kalma immediately on
phone. But in your case this did not occur to him and he called me
here. Then he stressed upon me the importance and need of
IMAAN forever. He warned me about apparent hardships and
dangers of conversion and urged me to face all unpleased
consequences with patience and spirit of sacrifice. He explained to
the benefits of Islam, Prayers and Other articles of faith. Then he
enquired about my grandmother and maid and preached them to
become Muslims. Both of them were already inclined towards
Islam. So they also recited Kalma. Hazrat named my Grandmother
AMINA and maid MARIA. Sister Muneera and Ammi Jaan treated
us very well and helped us learn Prayers and other fundamentals
of ISLAM. We happily returned to our home.
1. After your return please tell us about what all happened.
2. While bidding us farewell Hazrat Saheb advised me to get my
husband, children and other relatives converted to Islam and to
save them from clutches of hell. Further, he made it clear to me
that such tests and trials in the way of Islam and Iman may
bring hardship and danger but would enhance my stature in the
eyes of Allah.
I told everything to my husband and urged him to embrace Islam
because I had become Muslim for ever. Since he loved me
passionately, he took my talks lightly at first. But when I
pressurized him for conversion, he became furious and asked me
to leave Islamic fold. I rang up Maulana Saheb and asked him if a
Muslim woman could live as a wife of a Sikh. Maulana replied that
in my case the marriage had become null and void. However in
order to persuade the husband and family members, I might stay
with him but with due care and restraint. This put me in a very
tense situation. I felt very uneasy to live with him. Every day we
quarreled bitterly. I again approached Maulana Saheb who
advised me to offer TaHajjud prayers and make special prayers to
Allah. I followed his instructions and spent whole night in saying
prayers and beseeching Allah's blessing and help. My Allah
responded to my prayers. The next night when I pressed hard my
husband to become Muslim he finally gave up. He said to me "I am
fed up with these daily quarrels. If you are pleased to see me a
Muslim, get me converted to Islam". I told him that to become a
Muslim for my pleasures sake was quite useless, and he must do it
to please his Creator who sees and knows everything. Then I gave
him Maulana's book Aap Ki Aamanat to read. Earlier he used to
throw it but this time he took it and read it minutely. I noticed that
colour of his face was changing while reading the book, Then he
loudly recited KALMA SHAHADAT three times and said. "I am now
reciting Kalma not to please you but to please my Creator Allah."
His reciting of Kalma made me extremely happy and after two
month of turmoil and bitterness, I got peace and relief. Next day he
got transfer order for ROPAR and went there. After a week he
went to check security arrangement and was standing near
boundary wall of a college when due to gush of furious storm the
wall collapsed and my husband died under its debris. Sister Asma
I could not tell you the intensity of grief and shock felt by me on
this ghastly tragedy. But by Allah's Grace I faced the
bereavements with courage. I was satisfied that after embracing
Islam my husband got entry in paradise through this accident and I
felt assured that I would also be admitted in paradise. About his
KIRYA KARAM (Last rites) trouble arose because his family
members claimed to be the rightful heir of the deceased. D.I.G.,
I.G and other officers also intervened. Finally it was decided to
erect a SAMADHI for him. But I called a local Maulvi Saheb who
offered JANAZA Prayers for him.
Q: Then did you return to Jalandhar?
A: Yes! And as directed by Hazrat Saheb I spent IDDAT (Period
of Mourning) there. Then my brother staying at London called me
there and I tried to get my passport issued. Meanwhile I saw
KAABA in a dream and told it to Maulana along with my desire to
perform HAJJ. Maulana Saheb told me that HAJJ was obligatory
on me. But I could not perform it without a Mehram. He advised
me to marry again. But my desire to go for HAJJ was intensified to
the level of madness. I made a number of trips to Phulat and Delhi,
met scores of travel agents but could not succeed to go on HAJJ
voyage. I used to weep bitterly and prayers to Allah for fulfillment
of my desire. Three Days before Baqrid I was over whelmed and
became unconscious at the time of TAHAJJUD. It a state of Halfawakening,
I saw HAJJ scarf on my head and myself going to
mina and Arafat. I performed complete HAJJ. When I woke up my
heart was full of joy. I phoned to Maulana Kaleem Saheb who was
in Makkah at the time. He was stunned to hear details given by
me.
Q: My Father told me that you Performed HAJJ last year actually.
A: Yes! I am so grateful to Allah that after HAJJ in Dream, I
prevailed upon one of my brothers to embrace Islam and then both
of us Performed HAJJ last year.
Q: Have you any Message for ARMUGHAN?
A: Like Sister Ayesha I also repeat that one day life with IMAN is
better than 100 years life without IMAN. Pray for all of us to be
admitted in paradise. Thanks.

The Power of Du'a (Supplication)

The Quran says: “And your Lord says: “Call on Me; I will answer your (Prayer)!”
( 40:60 )

What is du'a?
The term is derived from an arabic word meaning 'call out' or to 'summon'.
In the terminology of islam, du'a (دعاء) is the act of supplication. At times of great despair and distress there is a deep-rooted primordial instinct in man to turn towards Allah
This is when Muslim people from all over connect with God and ask him for forgivness and favors.
Examples of such times are if a man is drowning, or very close to death, or a loved one is sick and dying. Man, no matter how wealthy, successful, intelligent or proud he might be then realizes how powerless he is and turns to a greater power. Also, when he tried but couldn't succeed in a matter and than he realizes that without Allah's help all his knowledge and skills are useless and than turns to him in repentance asking for help.
AL QUR'AN :
"Turn towards Allah, O believers, every one of you, so that you may be successful ."[24:31]
Du'a is different from the daily 5 times of "fard" prayer still it is a profound act of worship. To call out for help to God presume infinite trust in the mercy of the Allmighty. It is an act which emanates from man’s realization that he is weak and limited and that the creator is not. Every time we turn towards him we are thus saying he is all powerful. Thats why it's said in the hadeeth:  "Du'a is the Essence of Ibadah (worship)" ( at-Tirmidhi, Ahmad, Bukhari )
The Quran says: “And your Lord says: “Call on Me; I will answer your (Prayer)!”

Anyone can turn to the creator and ask him in any language. However in Islam there are guidelines.
Our deen tells us that the best way to do du’a is to raise your hands and to:

- Praise Allah and call him by his names in Arabic, i.e. “Ya Rahman” (Oh Merciful one) or “Ya Razzaq” (Oh provider)
"There is nothing more dear to Allah Ta'alah than a servant making du'a to him." (Tirmidhi)

- Ask for peace and prayers on his beloved prophet, Muhammad (peace be upon him).
`Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`As (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying: "Whoever supplicates Allah to exalt my mention, Allah will exalt his mention ten times.''
[Muslim].

Ibn Mas`ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "The people who will be nearest to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who supplicate Allah more often for me.''
[At-Tirmidhi].

- Abstaining from unlawful (haram) food, drink, clothing, income, actions
- Being sincere in what we are asking for (not wishing harm for anybody), as several hadeeths says that "bad" du'as wont be accepted from Allah, and with humility in front of Allah

- Having purity on soul, body and cloths, being in the state of Wudu

- To make the du’a three times. It is preferrable to do a du’a which the prophet himself (peace be upon him) did, but any du’a in any language is fine as long as it does not ask for something which is wrong.

- Making du'a for others / in someones absence
Abud-Darda' (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying, "Whenever a Muslim supplicates for his (Muslim) brother in his absence, the angels say: `May the same be for you too'.''
[Muslim].
"And ask forgiveness for your sin, and also for (the sin of) believing men and believing women''. ( Quoran 47:19)

- Then to finish the du’a by praising Allah and asking for peace and prayers on his prophet (peace be upon him) once again, and saying Ameen

Best times for du'a (instances when our du'a is accepted) :

-  Between the adhan / aza'an and the iqama

- After obligatory (fard) prayers
Abu Umamah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was asked: "At what time does the supplication find the greatest response?'' He (PBUH) replied, "A supplication made during the middle of the last part of the night and after the conclusion of the obligatory prayers.''
[At-Tirmidhi].

- The entire day of friday (joma'a)
Aus bin Aus (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Among the best of your days is Friday; so supplicate Allah more often for me in it , for your supplications will be displayed to me.'' (Abu Dawud)

- During the month of ramadan

Some examples of the Prophet (s.a.w)'s most powerfull du'as:

- Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The supplication most often recited by the Prophet (PBUH) was: "Allahumma atina fid-dunya hasanatan, wa fil-akhirati hasanatan, wa qina `adhab-annar (O our Rubb! give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the punishment of the Fire).'''
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

- `Abdullah bin Mas`ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) used to supplicate: "Allahumma inni as'alukal-huda, wat-tuqa, wal-`afafa, wal-ghina (O Allah! I beseech You for guidance, piety, chastity and contentment).''

- Tariq bin Ashyam (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Whenever a man entered the fold of Islam, the Prophet (PBUH) would show him how to perform Salat and then direct him to supplicate: "Allahumm-aghfir li, warhamni, wa-hdini, wa `afini, warzuqni (O Allah! Forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, guard me against harm and provide me with sustenance and salvation).'''
[Muslim].

- In another narration Tariq said: A man came to the Prophet (PBUH) and said to him: "O Messenger of Allah! What shall I say if I want to pray to my Rubb?'' He (PBUH) said, "Say: `Allahumma-ghfir li, warhamni, wa `afini, warzuqni (O Allah! Forgive me, have mercy on me, protect me and provide me with sustenance).' Surely, this supplication is better for you in this life and in the Hereafter.''

- `Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`As (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) supplicated: "Allahumma musarrifal-qulubi, sarrif qulubana `ala ta`atika (O Allah! Controller of the hearts, direct our hearts to Your obedience).''
[Muslim].

- `Ali (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said to me, "Recite: `Allahumma-hdini wa saddidni (O Allah! Direct me to the Right Path and make me adhere to the Straight Path).'' Another narration is: `Allahumma inni as'aluk-alhuda was-sadad (I beg You for guidance and uprightness).''
[Muslim].

- Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to supplicate: "Allahumma inni a`udhu bika minal-ajzi wal-kasali, wal-jubni wal-harami, wal-bukhli, wa a`udhu bika min `adhabil-qabri, wa a`udhu bika min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamat [O Allah! I seek refuge in You from helplessness (to do good), indolence, cowardice, senility, and miserliness; and I seek Your Protection against the torment of the grave and the trials of life and death].'' Another narration adds: "wa dala`id-daini wa ghalabatir-rijal (And from the burden of indebtedness and the tyranny of men).''
[Muslim].

-`Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) used to supplicate (in these words): "Allahumma inni audhu bika min sharri ma `amiltu, wa min sharri ma lam a`mal (O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the evil of that which I have done and the evil of that which I have not done).''
[Muslim].

On repentance (tauba and istighfaar) in islam

Why did i choose this topic today? Because unintentionally i hurted someone who means a lot to me. Because i know that what i did wasn't just hurting for him but also islamicly wrong, and this both facts together (hurting him and disobey Allah) makes me feel hurted the most. I can't blame anybody else for that what happened except myself, though i never wanted to hurt him, still i hope he will accept my apologize and will be able to trust me again one day.
Istighfaar (seeking forgiveness) and tauba (repentance) are basic elements of our belives.
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala has granted intellect to human beings. The intellect entails responsibility. The more intellect a person has the more he/she is responsible. When the intellect is missing, the responsibility is also not there. Little children are not held responsible, because their intellect has not yet developed. The insane are not responsible, because they have lost the intellectual capacity. However, part of our being human is also that we make mistakes. Sometime we make mistakes without deliberation and intention. But sometime we knowingly and deliberately sin and do wrong to others. Sometimes out of hurted dignity, or out of vanity, and sometimes just coz a sytuation is running out of controll.  It is said, “to err is human and to forgive is divine.” Both parts of this statement are very true. As human beings we are responsible, but we do also make mistakes and we are constantly in need of forgiveness.
A faithful person fails to be on guard at times and is victimized by temptations, but as soon as he realizes that he has violated Allah (SWT)’s command, and reminds himself of the consequences of Allah’s displeasure, he immediately repents and seeks forgiveness. This is called Istighfaar.
Man is but a very weak creation full of flaws and shortcomings. He is always surrounded by temptations. Vices disguised as virtues lay a snare and set up a trap for him. He needs to remain sensitive to distinguish between right and wrong, and between vice and virtue. Allah (SWT) has given him the supreme shield to defend himself from temptations and vices and that shield is Tauba and Istighfaar. Any person who lives in the formidable fort of Tauba and Istighfaar will always be safe against the attack of the forces of sins. When in all sincerity and earnestness, a sinner repents, bows down, prostrate and raises his hands in supplication, Allah’s mercy comes to his rescue and he is forgiven and his status is raised. Aayah 110 of Surah An-Nisa says:

“Yet anyone who does evil or wrongs his own soul and then asks Allah for forgiveness will find Him most forgiving and merciful.”
he real and true Tauba washes out the sins how great they may be. Aayah 38 of Surah Anfal says:

“[Ya Rasul Allah], tell the disbelievers that if they desist, their past will be forgiven, but if they persist, they have an example in the fate of those who went before.”

Allah keeps His door of forgiveness open all times.  Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari (RA) reported that Prophet (SAW) said, “Allah, the Exalted, will continue to stretch out His Hand in the night so that the sinners of the day may repent, and continue to stretch His Hand in the daytime so that the sinners of the night may repent, until the sun rises from the west. [Muslim].

Umar Farooque (RA) reported that the Prophet (SAW) said, “Allah accepts a slave’s repentance as long as the latter is not on his death bad (that is, before the soul of the dying person reaches the throat).” [At-Tirmidhi]

Allah (SWT)’s Grace and Mercy is beyond limit. He can forgive any sin subject to His will. He (SWT) commands to make repentance and seek forgiveness instead of giving up hope as mentioned in Aayah 53 of Surah Al-Zumar:

“Say, [Allah says], My servants who have harmed yourselves by your own excess, do not despair of Allah’s Mercy. Allah forgives all sins: He is truly the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.”
It is also wrong to think the repentance and seeking forgiveness is limited to the sinners only. The truth is that the Prophets and Messengers who were all innocent were more conscious of Tauba and Istighfaar. They thought that did not do enough to thank Allah (SWT) and could not do justice with their status of servitude. Prophet (SAW) used to say Istighfaar three times after prayers. For sinners, Tauba and Istighfaar are to earn forgiveness and for those who are puritans, it is a means to get still closer to Allah (SWT) and have their status further raised.

May Allah (SWT) enable us to avoid sins, and enable us to make sincere repentance and seek His forgiveness! Aamin!

But islam speaks also about the human aspect of forgiving.
We need both, because we do wrong in our relations to Allah as well as in our relations to each other.

  Allah’s Forgiveness:

Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala is the most Forgiving. There are many names of Allah given in the Qur’an. Some of these names are related to His mercy and forgiveness. Let me mention some of these names:

Al-Ghafoor: The most Forgiving. This name occurs in the Qur’an more than seventy times. There are other names from the same root, such as Ghafir and Ghaffar. The meaning of the “ghafara” is to cover, to hide and from it comes the meaning “to excuse”, “to pardon”, “to remit” and “to forgive”. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala does all these things. In the Qur’an, it is mentioned that Allah does not forgive the Shirk (without repentance) but He may forgive every other sin for whomsoever He wills. (al-Nisa’ 4:116) We must turn to Allah to seek His forgiveness.

Al-’Afuw: This has another aspect of forgiveness. This name occurs in the Qur’an five times. Literally the word ‘Afw means “to release” “to heal”, “to restore”, “to remit”. Thus in relation to Allah it means “to release us from the burden of punishment due to our sins and mistakes”, “to restore our honor after we have dishonored ourselves by committing sins and making mistakes.” Sometimes in the Qur’an both names: ‘Afuw and Ghafoor come together.

Al-Tawwab: The Acceptor of repentance. This name of Allah is mentioned in the Qur’an about 11 times. Allah accepts the repentance of those who sincerely repent and turn to him. The word “tawwab” gives the sense of “oft-returning” which means that Allah again and again accepts the repentance. We make sins and mistakes then we repent, He accepts our repentance. Then again we commit sins and make mistakes and when we repent, He again very kindly accept us and gives us another chance.

Al-Haleem: The Clement. This name is mentioned fifteen times in the Qur’an. This means that Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala is not quick to judgment. He gives time. He forebears and is patient to see His servant to return to Him.

Al-Rahman and al-Rahim: The most Merciful and Compassionate. These names are the most frequent in the Qur’an. Al-Rahman is mentioned 57 times and al-Raheem is mentioned 115 times. Al-Rahman indicates that Allah’s mercy is abundant and plenty and al-Raheem indicates that this is always the case with Allah. He is full of love and mercy and He is ever Merciful.

The Qur’an teaches that Allah is a Judge and He also punishes, but Allah is not bound to punish. The justice of Allah, according to Qur’an is that Allah does not and will not inflict undue punishment on any person. He will not ignore the good of any person. But if He wishes to forgive any sinner, He has full freedom to do that. His mercy is unlimited and His love is infinite.

There are many verses in the Qur’an and sayings of the Prophet -peace be upon him- on the love, mercy and forgiveness of Allah. In one of the prayers that the Prophet taught, he said, “O Allah, You are most Forgiving One, You love to forgive, so forgive me.”(reported by al-Trimidhi and Ibn Majah). We need Allah’s mercy and forgiveness all the time. It is wrong to assume at any time that one will find eternal salvation without the forgiveness of Allah.

On Human forgiveness

We cannot expect Allah’s forgiveness unless we also forgive those who do wrong to us. Forgiving each other, even forgiving one’s enemies is one of the most important Islamic teaching. In the Qur’an Allah has described the Believers as “those who avoid major sins and acts of indecencies and when they are angry they forgive.” (al-Shura 42:37) Later in the same Surah Allah says, “The reward of the evil is the evil thereof, but whosoever forgives and makes amends, his reward is upon Allah.” (al-Shura 42:40) In another place the Qur’an says, “If you punish, then punish with the like of that wherewith you were afflicted. But if you endure patiently, indeed it is better for the patient. Endure you patiently. Your patience is not except through the help of Allah (al-Nahl 16:126-127)

In one Hadith the Prophet -peace be upon him- said that Allah has commanded him about nine things. One of them he mentioned was “that I forgive those who do wrong to me.”

The Prophet -peace be upon him- was the most forgiving person. He was ever ready to forgive his enemies. When he went to Ta’if to preach the message of Allah, its people mistreated him. They abused him and hit him with stones.

He left the city humiliated and wounded. When he took shelter under a tree, the angel of Allah visited him and told him that Allah sent him to destroy the people of Ta’if because of their sin of mistreating their Prophet. The Prophet -peace be upon him- prayed to Allah to save the people of Taif, because what they did was out of their ignorance. He said, “O Allah, guide these people, because they did not know what they were doing.” When he entered the city of Makkah after the victory, the Prophet -peace be upon him- had in front of him some of his staunchest enemies. Those who fought him for many years, persecuted his followers and killed many of them. Now he had full power to do whatever he wanted to punish them for their crimes. It is reported that the Prophet -peace be upon him- asked them, “What do you think I shall do to you now?” They pleaded for mercy. The Prophet -peace be upon him- said, “Today I shall say to you what Joseph (referring to Prophet Yusuf -peace be upon him- as mentioned in the Qur’an, Yusuf 12:92) said to his brothers, ‘No blame on you today. Go, you are all free.” Soon they all came and accepted Islam at his hands. He forgave even Hind who had caused the murder of his uncle Hamza -may Allah be pleased with him. After killing him she had his body mutilated and chewed his liver.
When she accepted Islam, the Prophet even forgave her.

But what are the requierements of forgiving?
Son! If shaitan puts ‘waswasa’ in your heart and instigates you to oppose Allah, don’t forget to ask for Allah’s forgiveness. Immediately ask for Allah’s forgiveness.
Repentance destroys sins.
(Usul-e-Kafi-2, p. 422)

first of all: sincere repentance...   we have to admit that what we did was wrong, and having the sincere intention, not to repeat the same sin again. If someone was effected through our sin, we should give people their rights, dues and if he has done ‘ghibat’ then to ask for forgiveness. I think this is one of the hardest part of it: to face the one we hurted, admitting our mistake, and ask for his forgiveness. Yet im trying it on this way now, and i certainly hope he would read this blog and accept my apologize. It was never my intention to hurt him, yet it came to that point and i know i shouldn't have go that far that anybody could get hurted trough it.
Farther requierements for forgiveness are:
If he has failed in performing his duties, then to do ‘qaza’.
To bear as much hardship in the obedience of Allah as he had derived from committing a sin. Also to give charity and helping for those who are in need are helpful on the way of istighfaar.
In this sense:

May Allah accept my tauba and istighfaar, and may that friend i hurted accept my apologize. Ameen

What is dhikr (zikr) and why is it often called as the basic of our believe....

"The word dhikr is commonly translated as "remembrance" or "invocation". In reality, it has taken a wide range and various layers of meaning. For instance, while dhikr is commonly understood as the practice of remembering God, it has also been used in the Islamic sources to indicate God as the subject and the servant as the object of dhikr, and also been directly applied to the Prophet (s.a.w)  as embodiment of dhikr of God."

So far the Wikipedia definition of dhikr. Where our all-around appreciated online lexikon fails is the expression of  "embodiment of ... God" as in islam, unlike to christianity we don't see our prophet (s.a.w) as embodiment of God but as his Messenger (s.a.w).

But what are the best forms of dhikr and what are the benefits of it?
There are several verses in the Qur'an which emphasize the importance of remembering the Will of God by saying "God Willing," "God Knows best," "if it is Your Will," and so on. This is the basis for dhikr.
Sura 33 ( Al Ahzab ) ayah 41 says:
"O ye who believe! Celebrate the praises of Allah, and do this often;"
and Sura 13 ( Al Ra'd )ayah 28:
"They are the ones whose hearts rejoice in remembering God. Absolutely, by remembering God, the hearts rejoice."
Sura 3 ( Al Imran ), ayah 191:
"Men who celebrate the praises of Allah, standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth, (With the thought): "Our Lord! not for naught Hast Thou created (all) this! Glory to Thee! Give us salvation from the penalty of the Fire."
Sura 87 (Al Ala), ayat 14-15:
"But those will prosper who purify themselves,And glorify the Name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer."
Sura 63 (Al Munafiqun), ayah 9:
"O ye who believe! Let not your riches or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. If any act thus, the loss is their own."

There are also a number of hadiths that give emphasis to remembrance of God:
Muhammad said that "the best dhikr is that of la elaha ella’llah, and the best supplicatory prayer is that of al-hamdo le’llah," which translate to "there is no god but Allah" and "praise to God" respectively.

Abu Hureira reported that the prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عايه و سلم) said, "Cursed is the world and what it contains with the exception of the remembrance of Allah and what He Loves, and the one who teaches others (useful knowledge) and the one who acquires knowledge." From Tirmidhi

Muhammad would often tell his companions, "Shall I tell you about the best of deeds, the most pure in the Sight of your Lord, about the one that is of the highest order and is far better for you than spending gold and silver, even better for you than meeting your enemies in the battlefield where you strike at their necks and they at yours?" The companions replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" Muhammad said, "Remembrance of Allah." from at-Tirmidhi
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عايه و سلم) said, "People will not sit in an assembly in which they remember Allah without the angels surrounding them , mercy covering them, and Allah Mentioning them among those who are with Him." from Muslim

And what are the rewards of dhikr? Here a few great rewards from Allah for those who don't forget about His remembrance:

1. Earn a thousand good deeds in Minutes
Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said: “Is anyone of you incapable of earning one thousand Hasanah (rewards) a day?” Someone from the gathering asked, “How can anyone of us earn a thousand Hasanah?” Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said: “Glorify Allah a hundred times by just saying “Subhanallah” and a Good deeds will be written for you, or a thousand sins will be wiped away.” (Muslim 4:2073)

2. A Date Palm planted in Paradise for the one who Recites this
Hadhrat Jaa’bir [Ra] narrated that Rasulallah(Peace be upon him) said: “For the person who recites SUB-HAN’ALLAH HIL AZEEM WA BI-HAM’DIHI, [Pure and perfect is Allah in his glory and praise], – A date palm will be planted for him in Paradise” (Tirmidhi)
Another Narration says:
Forgiveness for Sins Even Though they are like the Foam of the Sea:
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “Whoever says, ‘Subhan Allaahi Wa bihamdihi, {Allah is free from imperfection and His is the praise}. One hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea. (Bukhari, Book #75, Hadith #414)
3. We Can Earn Over a BILLION Rewards in Just a Few Seconds!
Narrated ‘Ubaadah that the Messenger of Allah said, “Whoever seeks forgiveness for the believing men and believing women, Allah will write for him a good deed for each believing man and believing woman.” (Tabarrani)

4. That Which Shall Have no Equal on the Day of Resurrection:
Narrated Abu Huraira:Allah’s Apostle said, ”Whoever says one hundred times in a day:
“Laa ilaaha illallaah wahdahuu laa shareeka lahu, lahu-l-mulk wa lahu-l-hamd wa huwa ‘alaa kulli shai’in qadeer,”
(“None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Alone Who has no partners, to Him belongs Dominion and to Him belong all the Praises, and He has power over all things (i.e. Omnipotent)”,}
he will get the same reward as given for manumitting ten slaves; and one hundred good deeds will be written in his accounts, and one hundred sins will be deducted from his accounts, and it (his saying) will be a shield for him from Satan on that day till night, and nobody will be able to do a better deed except the one who does more than he.” (Bukhari, Book #75, Hadith #412)

5. Four Phrases that are Heavier on the Scales than an Entire Morning of Dhikrullah (Remembrance of Allah):
The Mother of the Believers, Juwairiyah bint Al-Harith reported that the Prophet came out from my apartment in the morning as I was busy in performing the dawn prayer. He came back in the forenoon and found me sitting there. The Prophet said, ”Are you still in the same position as I left you.” I replied in the affirmative. Thereupon the Prophet said, “I recited four phrases three times after I had left you. If these are to be weighed against all you have recited since morning, these will be heavier. These are:

Subhan-Allah Wa bihamdihi, ‘adada khalqihi, wa rida-a nafsihi, wa zinatah ‘arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi
(Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise, as many times as the number of His creatures, in accordance with His Good Pleasure, equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words (for His Praise).” (Muslim)

6. A Phrase that Comes with Rewards in the MILLIONS:
On the authority of Abdullah ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet said: “Whoever enters a market and says:
‘Laa ilaaha ill Allah Wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul Mulku Wa lahul Hamdu yuhyi Wa yumeetu Wa huwa Hayyun laa yamoot, bi yadihil khayr, wahuwa ‘alaa kulli shay’ in qadeer’
{There is nothing worthy of worship but Allah, He is alone without partner, to Him belongs the dominion and the praise, he causes life and death and He is the Living One and will never die. In His Hand is all good, and He is over all things capable.)
Allah will write for him a million good deeds erase a million of his bad deeds and build for him a house in Jannah.”
And in another narration, instead of mentioning that Allah will build a house in Jannah, it states, “and he will be raised one million levels.” (Tirmidhi).

7. Reciting Tasbeeh, (Subhanballah), Tahmeed (Alhamdolillah) and Takbeer Allahu Akbar), and enjoining what is Good and forbidding what is evil, and praying Salaatul Duha (Breakfast prayer).,
It was narrated from Abu Dharr that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “For every bone of the son of Adam a charity must be given each day. Every Tasbeehah (saying Subhaan Allah -Glory be to Allah) is a charity, every Tahmeedah (saying Al-hamdu Lillaah -praise be to Allah) is a charity, every tahleelah (saying Laa ilaaha ill-Allah -There is no god but Allah) is a charity, every takbeerah (saying Allaahu akbar -Allah is Most Great) is a charity, enjoining what is good is a charity, forbidding what is evil is a charity, and two Rak’ahs (Nafil) offered in the mid-morning (Duha) is sufficient.” (Muslim, 720)

8.The Virtues of Reciting Tasbih at-I-Fatima
A well-known Tradition of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) has it that the Prophet’s beloved daughter (and Hazrat Ali’s (Ra) wife), Hazrat Fatima (Ra), used to perform all the domestic duties with her own hands. She had even to draw water from the well and to carry it home and to grind the corn in the millstone. One day she begged the holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) to provide her with a domestic servant upon which the Prophet (Peace be upon him) observed, “I will tell you of something that will serve you better than a domestic servant. Recite Subhaa-nallaah 33 times, Alhamdu lillaah 33 times, and Allahu Akbar 34 times after each Salaah and on retiring to bed. This will be of greater value to you than a servant.”
Another Tradition says, “Whoever will recite after each Salaah 33 times Subhaa-nallaah, 33 times Alhamdu lillaah, and 34 times Allahu Akbar, and, at the end of it, the Kalima of ‘Laa ilaaha illal laahu wahdahu laa sharika lahu lahul mulku wa-lahul hamdu wa huwa alaa kulli shay-in qadeer’. (There is no Allah but one Allah. He is alone. No partner hath. He Him belongs sovereignty and unto Him belongs Praise and He is all-Powerful) all his sins will be forgiven even if they be as profuse as the foam of the sea.”

 9. How to Erase 2500 Sins in 5 minutes!
Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: ‘There are two qualities, no Muslim man acquires them but he will enter Paradise, and they are simple and easy. He should glorify Allah (say Subhaan Allah) ten times immediately after each prayer, and praise Him (say Al-hamdu Lillaah) ten times and magnify Him (say Allaahu Akbar) ten times.’
I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) counting this on his fingers. He said: ‘That makes one hundred and fifty on the tongue and one thousand five hundred (hasanaat) in the scales.
[Translator’s note: each of three phrases repeated ten times makes thirty; multiplied by the number of daily prayers, which is five, makes one hundred and fifty. Each of these good deeds of the tongue will be rewarded with ten hasanaat which will be added to the total of good deeds to be weighed in the balance or scales on the Day of Judgement].

10. Glorifying Allah 100 times when one goes to bed
When you go to bed, glorify Him and praise Him and magnify Him One hundred times: that will be one hundred on the tongue and a thousand in the scales.
Who among you does 2,500 bad deeds in one day?’ They said: ‘How could we not count (our sins)?’ He said: ‘The Shaytaan comes to any one of you whilst he is praying and says, Remember this, remember that, until he finishes his prayer and does not do (this dhikr), or he comes to him when he is lying down and makes him sleepy, until he falls asleep (without doing this dhikr).’” (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 3332).

11. Earning a 1000 good deeds and wiping away a 1000 bad deeds in Minutes
If a person says “Subhanallah” (glory be to Allah) 100 times, a thousand good deeds are recorded for him and a thousand bad deeds are wiped away. (Muslim)

12. Jannat becomes obligatory for the one who Recites the following
Abu Sa’id (Ra) said that Rasullallah (Peace be upon him) said, “Whoever says:
Radeetu billahi rabban, Wa bil-Islaami deenan, Wa bi-Muhammadin rasoolan
Jannah becomes obligatory for him (to enter). (Abu-Dawud)
- Best said in Morning and Evening with “Nabiyan wa rasoolan”

13. The Virtues of Reciting the First Kalimah
The declaration of belief in the oneness of Allah or kalimah tayyibah
Laa ilaaha ill-Allah
(There is no worthy of worship except Allah)
This should be read as much as possible all the time where we are and whatever were doing as long as it is not in the toilet.
Hadrat Zaid bin ‘Arqam (Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever says Laa ilaaha illal-laah…sincerely will enter the Paradise.”
It was said: And what is the [sign of] sincerity? He said: “That this kalimah stops him from those things which Allah has forbidden.” (Tabaraani in Awsat-ul-Kabeer)
“Do you not see how Allah puts forth the likeness of a good word (kalimah tayyibah)? It is like a good tree, whose root is firmly fixed and whose branches reach to the sky. It brings forth its fruit in all seasons by the command of its Lord. And Allah sets forth parables for men, so that they may take heed. And the likeness of an evil word (kalimah khabeetha- a word of shirk) is like an evil tree, which is uprooted from the face of the earth, and has no stability.” (Qur’an: 14-26)

14. Virtues of Reciting the Third Kalimah:
The word of glorification or the Kalima-e-Tamjeed
Subhāna-llāhi, wa-l-hamdu li-llāhi, Wa lā ilāha illā-llāhu, wa-llāhu akbar. Wa lā hawla Wa lā quwwata illā bi-llāhi-l-‘aliyyi-l-‘azīm
(Glory be to Allah. And praise be to Allah. And there is no god except Allah. And Allah is the Greatest. And there is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, And Most Great)
Ibn Mas’ood (Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “When I met Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) in the night of Mi’raaj (Night of ascension) he asked me to convey his Salaam to my Ummah and to tell them that the Paradise has a fertile soil and sweet water, and is like a vast field. And its plants are [the words above].”
Another version says: “Whoever recites the words above, a tree in Paradise is planted for him for each word he says.” (Virtues of Dhikr; Tirmidhi)

15. Virtues of reading the Fourth Kalimah:
The word of Oneness of Allah or the Kalima-e-Tawhid:
Lā ilāha illā-llāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu lahu-l-mulku Wa lahu-l-hamdu yuḥyi Wa yumītu Wa huwa ḥayyu-llā yamūtu abadan abada, ḏū-l-jalāli wa-l-ikrām, biyadihi-l-khayr, wa huwa ‘alā kulli Shay’in qadīr.
(There is no god except Allah, Who is Alone and has no partners. For Him is the Dominion and for Him is all praise. He gives life and causes death. And He is living and will never ever die. Owner of Majesty and Honour: In His Hands is all goodness. And He has power over all things)
Abu Hurairah (Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “A person who recites: Laa ilaaha illal-laahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa ‘alaa kulli shay-in qadeer, a hundred times daily will have reward equal to that of freeing ten slaves and one hundred good deeds will be written for him, and one hundred of his sins will be lifted from him, and for the whole day, he will remain immune from the Shaytaan until the evening, and on the Day of Judgment, no one will exceed him in merit except one who has done [these phrases] more.” (Agreed Upon)
Here are the virtues of Qur’an and some recommended Surah’s:

16. Reward for Reciting each letter of Holy Qur’aan.
It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever reads a letter of the Book of Allah will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a tenfold reward. I do not say that Alif-Laam-Meem is a letter, rather alif is a letter, laam is a letter and meem is a letter.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2910)
17. Surah Fathiha The Mother of the Qur’an and a cure for every disease
Abu Sulaiman says that once a group of Companions were in an expedition (ghazwa) when they happened to come across an epileptic person, who was unconscious. One of the Companions recited Surah Al-Fatiha and blew in his ear. The epileptic person immediately cured. When Sayyidana Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was informed of this, he said: “It (Surah Al-Fathiha) is “The Mother of the Qur’an” (Umm al-Qur’an) and is a cure for every disease.”
[This narration has been recorded by Ath-Thua’lbi from Abu Sulaiman, who narrated it from Muawiya bin Saleh (RA), Tafseer Mazhari 1:31]

18. Surah Mulk which protects one from the Torment of the Grave
It was narrated that Abdullah ibn Mas’ud said: Whoever reads Tabarakallahi Biyadihil Mulk [i.e. Surah al-Mulk] every night, Allah will protect him from the torment of the grave. At the time of the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) we used to call it al-mani’ah (that which protects). In the Book of Allah it is a surah which, whoever recites it every night has done very well. (an-Nasa’i)

19. Surah Zilzalah worth half of the Qur’an
Abdullah Ibn ‘Abbas and Anas Ibn Malik (Ra) reported that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, ‘Whoever recited Surah Zilzilah (99) would get the reward of reciting half the Qur’an. Whoever recited Surah al Kaafirun (109) would get a reward as if reading a quarter of the Qur’an. Whoever recited Surah al Ikhlas (112)would get a reward as if reading one third of the Qur’an’. (At-Tirmidhi 2818/A)

20. Surah Iklhas worth a third of the Qur’an
Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said to his Companions, “Are any of you unable to recite a third of the Qur’an in a night?” That was difficult for them and they said, “Which of us is able to do that, Messenger of Allah?” He said, “[The surah] ‘Say: He is Allah, Absolute Oneness, Allah, the Everlasting Sustainer of all’ (112) constitutes a third of the Qur’an.’” (Sahih al-Bukhari 6:61 #534, Riyad as-Salihin by Imam an-Nawawi Ch.183 #1010)

21. Surah Iklhas recited 200 times daily gets forgiveness of 50 years of sin
Anas ( RA) reported the Prophet (Peace be upon him) as saying, “If anyone recites two hundred times daily, Qul huwallahu ahad the sins of fifty years will be wiped out, unless he is in debt.” (At-Tirmidhi and Darami).
The latter version has ‘fifty times’ and he did not mention ‘unless he is in debt’

22. Surah al Falaq and An Naas protection from Jinn and evil eye
The Prophet (Peace be upon him) used to seek refuge from the jinn as well as from the evil eye until Surah al Falaq and An Naas were revealed. When they were sent down, he utilised them and left other things. [At-Tirmidhi #1984, Riyad as-Salihin by Imam an-Nawawi Ch.183 #1014]

23. Good manners are the Heaviest on the good deed scales
Abu Darda (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, “Nothing will be heavier on the Day of Resurrection in the Scale of the believer than good manners. Allah hates one who utters foul or coarse language.”

24. We will regret the Seconds we wasted without remembering Allah
Hadhrat Mu’az [RA] narrated Rasulallah (Peace be upon him) said: “The Inhabitants of Paradise will not be grief stricken or sorrowful about anything they did in the life of the world except for the time they spent without being in the remembrance of Allah” (Tabaraani)

25. Do Dhikr of Allah even if its on Comfortable beds
Hadhrat Abu Saeed Khudri (Ra) narrates that Rasulullah (Peace be upon him) said:
“There are many people reclining on comfortable beds and making the Dhikr of Allah on earth. Allah will grant them elevated ranks (in the Aakhirah).” (Ibn Habbaan)
Those indulging in luxury should not abstain from Dhikrullah. They too should be constantly engaged in the remembrance of Allah whilst enjoying the comforts of the bounties which whilst enjoying the comforts of the bounties which Allah has bestowed on them and Allah will give them elevated ranks in the hereafter.

26. Do so much Dhikr that people think your mad
Hadhrat Abu Saeed Khurdi (Ra) also narrates that Rasulullah (Peace be upon him) said:
“Engage in the Dhikr of Allah in such abundance that people comment that ‘you are insane’.” (Ahmed, Abu Ya’la, Ibn Habbaan)
27. Remember Allah in the places where people don’t usually remember Allah
It is mentioned in hadith that in a place where people are oblivious to dhikir, remembrance of Allah is like being steadfast in jihad, when others are running away. (Targhib, p. 193, vol. 3 ref. Bazar and Tibrani)
So let us be the best towards others and be humble!
Let us also remember Allah as much as we can!

Tasbih or Mesbaha and their role in dhikr:

Tasbih or Mesbaha are prayer breads, usually 33 or 99 upon a string, which correspond to the names of God in Islam and other recitations. The beads are used to keep track of the number of recitations that make up the dhikr. (As in many hadeeths are mentioned the benefits of Tasbih of Fatimah or repeating SoubhanAllah a hundred times, etc.)

Some scholars, especially the followers of wahhabism categorise the using of mesbaha as bida'a, inovation, as they claim that the usage of the fingers to count is better as that is what was practiced by our Prophet (s.a.w). Myself found the breads helps to count specially by the "Tasbih of Fatimah", where you have to repeat 33 times SoubhanAllah, 33 times Alhamdoulillah, and 33 times Allahu akbar. As the usual mesbaha with its 99 breads, is divided in 3 parts (33-33-33) makes it easier the daily dhikr.

One of the Rare Treasures of Paradise

Hadhrat Abu Dharr [Ra] narrated that Rasulallah [Saw] said: “Should I not tell you of one treasure of the unlimited treasures of Paradise?” I replied spontaneously “Oh Rasulallah (Peace be upon him) that would be an honour indeed!” Rasulallah (Saw) said: “That rare treasure is LA HAWLA WA LA QUWWATA ILLA BILLAH.” (“The strength to do good and to refrain from evil comes from the grace and mercy of Allah!”) -(Ibn Majah)
Hadrat Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that “my beloved friend” (the Holy Prophet Muhammad, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) has enjoined five things upon me. He has commanded me to love and be close to the poor and the downtrodden, and he has commanded me to look at those in the world who are of lower rank than me, and not at those who are of higher rank, and he has commanded me to be kind to the kinsman and to preserve and keep intact the bond of kinship, and he has commanded me not to ask for anything from anyone as a favour and he has commanded me to speak the truth at all times though it may be bitter for others, and he has commanded me to care nothing for the rebuke of those who revile and villify in the path of Allah, and he has commanded me to recite much the Kalima of: Laa Hawla wa laa Qawwuta Illaa Billah (there is no power or strength but in Allah) because all these things are from the treasure-house (of Allah) which is under the ninth heaven. (Ahmad)

On the importance of wudhu and how to perform it correctly......

Allah's Messenger said, The key to Paradise is prayer
and the key to prayer is cleanliness (Ablution)
.
Tirmidhi, Transmitted Ahmad, Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah

A desert Arab came to Allah's Apostle and asked
him about ablution. He demonstrated (washing each part of his body)
thrice, and then said: That is (the method) of the ablution.
And he who does more than this has done wrong, transgressed
the limit and has oppressed (himself).
[Tirmidhi #417, Transmitted by Nasa'i, Ibn Majah,
and AbuDawud transmitted something to the same effect.]
Why did i choose to write about wudhu? It has a simple reason. It is about a story i heared once from a sister, which really amazed me. This sister told us about a family member of her who was working on the airport and witnessed there once how a non-muslim converted. She was working for the security forces of the airport and was called once to an incident in the waiting room. As she reached there she encountered two guys fiercely arguing with eachother. To find out what the fight was about she asked them to stop their arguments and telling her what was the reason of the quarrel. One of the guys turned to her and started to complain about the other guy who was obviously using the wash basin to perform his wudhu.
" How disgusting is this, he is washing his feed and rinsing his nose where im supposed to wash my hands before eating!!!!" and he kept on complaining about the other guys abolution.
The security agent, herself a muslim, felt uncomfortable to judge in the sytuation, and tried to convince the non-muslim guy to calm down. Suddenly, the "culprit", the muslim guy came and asked the non-muslim guy:
"May i ask you sir, how often the day you wash your hands?"
The non-muslim guy, surprised from the question, was thinking shortly, than he answered:
"Well i guess around 2 max. 3 times the day."
"Well in that case my feets are cleaner than ur hands, as i wash them 5 times the day" -answered the muslim guy.
The non-muslim guy kept confused quiet. The security agent could go back to her counter, the quarrel was over. Later on in her caffee-break, she saw the two men sitting in the airport-restaurant, peacefully talking with eachother, and she was satisfied.
After a few months, again at the airport, she was controlling passports as a bearded muslim guy came to her and said:
"Sister can you remember me? "
"I'm so sorry sir i see thousands of people here every day passing by....... " answered she confused. - "But if you could remind me somehow how did we meet??? "
"Sure........ can you remember that quarrel in the waiting room about the wudhu?"
"Sure........ how could i forget about that? But............ " - and than suddenly she realised........ the bearded muslim guy in front of her was the one who was complaining about the other guy performing his wudhuu. "How did this happen???"
"Well... can u remember the other guy too??? We were talking that day a lot... and we are still friends till now....... he is my menthor now, he brought me to the right path al hamdoulillah."

When i heared this story i was soo amazed about. It made me clear how important it is to keep ourselves in wudhuu. In this sense, pls read the guide below carefull, and if you found yourselves neglecting your wudhu, or you performed it on a different way, please correct it.

Hadith - Bukhari 1:161, Narrated Humran
(The slave of 'Uthman) I saw 'Uthman bin 'Affan asking for a tumbler of water (and when it was brought) he poured water over his hands and washed them thrice and then put his right hand in the water container and rinsed his mouth, washed his nose by putting water in it and then blowing it out. Then he washed his face and forearms up to the elbows thrice, passed his wet hands over his head and washed his feet up to the ankles thrice. Then he said, "Allah's Apostle said 'If anyone Performs ablution like that of mine and offers a two-rak'at prayer during which he does not think of anything else (not related to the present prayer) then his past sins will be forgiven.' " After performing the ablution 'Uthman said, "I am going to tell you a Hadith which I would not have told you, had I not been compelled by a certain Holy Verse (the sub narrator 'Urwa said: This verse is: 'Verily, those who conceal the clear signs and the guidance which we have sent down...)' (2:159). I heard the Prophet saying, 'If a man performs ablution perfectly and then offers the compulsory congregational prayer, Allah will forgive his sins committed between that (prayer) and the (next) prayer till he offers it.' "

The Noble Qur'an - Al-Mâ'idah 5:6
O you who believe! When you intend to offer As-Salât (the prayer), wash your faces and your hands (forearms) up to the elbows, rub (by passing wet hands over) your heads, and (wash) your feet up to ankles. If you are in a state of Janâba (i.e. had a sexual discharge), purify yourself (bathe your whole body). But if you are ill or on a journey or any of you comes from answering the call of nature, or you have been in contact with women (i.e. sexual intercourse) and you find no water, then perform Tayammum with clean earth and rub therewith your faces and hands. Allâh does not want to place you in difficulty, but He wants to purify you, and to complete His Favour on you that you may be thankful.

The Noble Qur'an - At-Tauba 9:108
...And Allâh loves those who make themselves clean and pure (i.e. who clean their private parts with dust [i.e. to be considered as soap) and water from urine and stools, after answering the call of nature].

Wudu (Ablution): How to Perform
  1. Say "Bismillah" (in the Name of Allah)
  2. Wash hands 3 times
    • Use left hand to wash right hand, up to and including the wrist, 3 times.
    • Then, use right hand to wash left hand, up to and including the wrist, 3 times.
  3. Rinse water in mouth 3 times
    • Cup right hand with water and put in mouth, then spit it out, 3 times.
  4. Snuff water in nose 3 times
  5. Wash face 3 times
  6. Wash forearms 3 times
    • Wipe right forearm with left hand, all the way up to and including the elbow, 3 times.
    • Wipe left forearm with right hand, all the way up to and including the elbow, 3 times.
  7. Wipe water over head/hair 1 times
    • It has been recorded that the Prophet used to wipe his head three different ways:
      1. Wiping all of his head. 'Abdullah ibn Zaid reported that the Prophet  wiped his entire head with his hands. He started with the front of his head, then moved to the back, and then returned his hands to the front.
      2. Wiping over the turban only.
        • Said 'Amru ibn Umayyah, "I saw the Messenger of Allah  wipe over his turban and shoes." (Related by Ahmad, al-Bukhari and Ibn Majah).
        • Bilal reported that the Prophet said, "Wipe over your shoes and head covering." (Related by Ahmad.)
        • 'Umar once said, "May Allah not purify the one who does not consider wiping over the turban to be purifying." Many hadith have been related on this topic by al-Bukhari, Muslim and others. Most of the scholars agree with them.
      3. Wiping over the front portion of the scalp and the turban. Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah said that the Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, made ablution and wiped over the front portion of his scalp, his turban and his socks. (Related by Muslim.) There is, however, no strong hadith that he wiped over part of his head, even though al-Ma'idah: apparently implies it. It is also not sufficient just to wipe over locks of hair that proceed from the head or along the sides of the head.
    • If you are a female and a non-mahram male (or any non-Muslim who you believe may describe you to others) may see you (such as in a public bathroom, etc.), do not remove your hijab or niqab... keep it on and wipe over it.
  8. Wipe the inside and back of ears 1 time
    • Wash both ears at the same time
  9. Wash feet
    • Wash right foot, including the ankle, with left hand, 3 times.
    • Wipe between each toe on right foot, with left hand pinky, 1 time.
    • Wash left foot, including the ankle, with right hand, 3 times.
    • Wipe between each toe on left foot, with right hand pinky, 1 time.
      • Once the Prophet remained behind us in a journey. He joined us while we were performing ablution for the prayer which was over-due. We were just passing wet hands over our feet (and not washing them properly) so the Prophet addressed us in a loud voice and said twice or thrice: "Save your heels from the fire."  [Bukhari 1:164, Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr]
      • "...and then he washed his feet up to the ankles."   [Bukhari 1.186, narrated Amr]

If any of the following happen, you must perform wudu again before doing salah.  It is recommended  (but not mandatory) to always be in a state of wudu, so it is not necessary to wait until hearing the adhan (call to Salah) before performing wudu.
      • Relieving oneself from the call of nature
        • O you who believe! [The Noble Qur'an 5:6]
      • Passing gas, i.e. breaking wind
        • Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah said, "Allah does not accept the prayer of a person who has released gas until he makes a new ablution." A person from Hadhramaut asked Abu Hurairah, "What does releasing gas mean?" He answered, "Wind with or without sound." [Related by al-Bukhari and Muslim.]
        • Abu Hurairah also narrated that the Prophet said, "If one of you finds a disturbance in his abdomen and is not certain if he has released any gas or not, he should not leave the mosque unless he hears its sound or smells its scent." [Related by Muslim.]
        • 'Abbad ibn Tameem related that his uncle queried the Prophet about a person who feels something in his abdomen while praying. Said the Prophet , "He should not leave (the prayer) until he hears it or smells it."   [Related by Muslim, Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi.]
      • Sexual Relations
        • One must perform ghusl after sexual relations, i.e. when the male private part enters the female private part.
      • Touching one's private parts with no barrier (i.e. cloth) between the hand and organ
        • Busrah bint Safwan narrated that the Prophet  said, "Whoever touches his sexual organ cannot pray until he performs ablution."  [This hadith is related by "the five." At-Tirmidhi classified it as sahih and al-Bukhari called it the most authentic report on that topic. Malik, ash-Shaifi, Ahmad and others also narrated it.]
In the event that you forget whether you have done wudu or not, err on the side of not re-performing wudu.... i.e. do not perform wudu again unless you are sure that you broke/invalidated it.
Make wudu again if you experience anger.
Hadith - Dawud, Narrated Atiyyah as-Sa'di
AbuWa'il al-Qass said: We entered upon Urwah ibn Muhammad ibn as-Sa'di. A man spoke to him and made him angry. So he stood and performed ablution; he then returned and performed ablution, and said: My father told me on the authority of my grandfather Atiyyah who reported the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) as saying: Anger comes from the devil, the devil was created of fire, and fire is extinguished only with water; so when one of you becomes angry, he should perform ablution.

For ladies: please make sure before performing wudhu, you are not wearing nailpolish ( as it is covering your nails and it makes your abolution incomplete), and remove too much make up from ur skin before washing urself (once you have to pray outside of home, demakeup pads or tissues are doing a good service) . Henna don't need to be removed as it is goin into the skin, not covering it, you can use it without any fear.

    • Drinking or Eating
      • The Messenger of Allah drank some milk and he did not rinse his mouth nor did he perform ablution, and he offered the prayer. [Dawud, Narrated Anas ibn Malik]
    • Kissing a mahram woman (such as your wife)
      • 'Aishah related that the Messenger of Allah  kissed her while he was fasting and said, "Kissing does not nullify the ablution, nor does it break the fast." [Related by Ishaq ibn Rahawaih and al-Bazzar with a good chain.  Evaluating its authenticity, 'Abdul-Haqq says, "I do not know of any defect in the hadith that could cause its rejection."]
    • Laughing
      • Laughing does not invalidate wudu. Laughing loudly during salah, however, does invalidate the salah.
    • Vomiting
    • Changing a baby's diaper
      • Just wash your hands after changing the diaper.
    • People with unusual circumstances (i.e. women with "prolonged flows of blood"), people who cannot control their urine, people with flatulence, and so on, should perform one ablution for each prayer whether their problem exists all or part of the time. Their prayers will be acceptable even while their problems are occuring.
    • Talking During Wudu

      (Dry Wudu)

When absolutetly no water is available, you should perform Tayammum (dry wudu)...

Hadith - Bukhari 1:331, Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah
... The earth has been made for me (and for my followers) a place for praying and a thing to perform Tayammum, therefore anyone of my followers can pray wherever the time of a prayer is due.
      The Noble Qur'an 5:6
O you who believe! When you intend to offer As-Salât (the prayer), wash your faces and your hands (forearms) up to the elbows, rub (by passing wet hands over) your heads, and (wash) your feet up to ankles.
